WORD: James Earl Jones Returns As Mufasa In Live Action Lion King (And Guess Who Is Voicing Simba?)

James Earl Jones has proven himself as an icon again and again and whilst many fans remember him mostly for voicing Darth Vadar there are others of us that love him the most for voicing Mufasa in the original Lion King cartoon!

I saw that movie at the theatre as a kid and now, like the live action Jungle Book from last year, it’s being made into live action.

The Jungle Book remake was beautiful and fun and this gives me hope that the Lion King remake will capture the magic of the original and bring it back for young audiences….

And a big boost to that is having the original Mufasa back in the throne!

But what about Simba?

Well, director Jon Favreau, who also directed the live action Jungle Book, confirmed via twitter:

I just can’t wait to be king. #Simba pic.twitter.com/wUYKixMBJI

Yes, that’s Donald Glover! Glover just won a Golden Globe for Atlanta and hit the world with his Childish Gambino album! A great choice.

Are you looking forward to the Lion King in live action, or do you think it’s another pointless remake?
