By now, you have seen white people dressed up in Halloween costumes as their favorite black celebrity or stereotype. It seems to be a fixture around the country for them to emulate our community or poke fun at us. This is the scene at college parties, private get togethers and more….but the not so secret truth is it is an infuriating insult.

How dressing up in black face is remotely acceptable to most white people in 2014 is beyond the comprehension of the black community. It calls upon terrible memories for the black community of enduring some of the most humiliating, insulting, embarrassing, dangerous and disheartening times any race can imagine.

 The fact that you can can put on something such as black face, then wonder why the black community is outraged is unbelievable.

It is time for the white community to realize they can pay homage to their favorite black celebrities and people without the insult of black face.
