At Northwestern University, a Ph.
D student was wrongfully accused of trying to steal his own car. After a woman called the police and reported that she saw a black man stealing a car the police pulled Crosby over and almost immediately rushed him and threw him to the ground despite the fact that Crosby fully cooperated with the Evanston police.
The officers claimed that Crosby was treated roughly for trying to resist resistance but don’t cops need a reason to arrest you before you can actually resist them. What was he being arrested for if they hadn’t even taken proper steps to determine if the vehicle was stolen or not.
A lady who called the police quickly realized she accused this Crosby of a crime he didn’t commit. As she cries and apologizes to the cop for racially profiling Crosby the cop consoles her while 3 other cops have their knees in Crosby’s back while he’s face down on the ground for driving while black. Isn’t that some ish, she received an apology and Crosby is handcuffed for some bs charges.
The entire incident was caught on police dash cam and the charges brought against Crosby for resisting arrest were dropped.
The engineer, Ph.D. student has now filed a lawsuit against the city of Evanston and the Evanston Police Department.
