It Turns Out Men May Not Be Intimidated By Success But They Are Intimidated By Height

Urban Intellectuals has been involved in a 2 year study to figure out if men were really intimidated by success in women.  The survey which was sent out to well over 50k people yielded responses that will puzzle some, but also opens the door to many new questions.  The preliminary analysis of the data appears to answers several questions and challenge several “truths” that have been championed by so many, especially in the black community.

In the ongoing study men from all over the the country of all types of ages and races were asked a series of questions to determine if in fact they were intimidated by women with better qualifications and/achievements.  They were asked about everything from feelings about income to feelings about height.  While the information presented is just preliminary it has caused quite a bit of excitement amongst those of us involved in the study.  Results are still coming in however and the data is still be verified and checked over.

It would seem that men are not only not intimidated by success, but that a fairly large portion of them find success to be extremely attractive.  With things placed on a 10 point scale with 1 being unattractive and 10 being attractive, the average rating from all men on the attractiveness of powerful women was an 8.  White Men seem to find it more attractive then Black Men a 10% difference.

When asked directly if success intimidated men, we again found that men were not intimidated in the least.  The average score from Black Men and White Men suggest that Black Men are 28% less intimidated than White Men.

When asked if women making more than them made them feel like less of a man.  The vast majority of men indicated that they didn’t feel that it had anything to do with their manhood.  The racial difference again was just 10% with White Men reporting feeling less like a man when their women make more than them.

When asked if a woman having more education intimidate men.  The answer again was not very.  In this case there seems to be a 21% difference between Black Men and White Men.  White Men seem to be more likely to be intimidated by a woman with an education that surpasses there own.

When it came to height there was more disparity in the responses.  It seems that most of the White Men respondents struggle with dating a woman that is taller than them while most of the Black Men respondents don’t.  The difference between the two is a staggering 38%.

Region also seems to play a part in this discussion as men from different regions displayed a noticeable difference in opinion and preference.  Preliminary indications suggest the most favorable region for a successful, powerful, highly educated woman is the Mid-West followed up closely by the South then the West and dragging way behind is the North.

This is a very exciting study that we are analyzing with great enthusiasm.  We can’t wait to finish the analysis and create a report to share with the community.  It also opens the door to other questions that were supposedly answered.  Those questions being, what is it about successful women that have them less likely to be in a relationship?  Theories still range from businesses to priorities to standards to perceived personality.  But from the preliminary results of this study, it would seem that their success itself is not the culprit.

We should have the data completely analyzed and a report created within the next few months.
