If the accusations of communications chair of the Minneapolis NAACP Raeisha Williams prove to be true this could be seriously terrible news.
She is claiming that that police are behind the shootings of 5 protesters at a recent Minneapolis #BLM (Black Lives Matter protest.
During an interview with CNN on Tuesday she was asked to react to two arrests that had happened following the shootings that have been blamed on white supremacists by protesters. She said:
“We’re hearing two at this time,”
“But we don’t necessarily trust that. We know that the police department is behind this, this is our personal belief after receiving witness accounts.”
CNN host Brooke Baldwin responded… “Wait, wait, wait,” “You said you believe the police department is behind what?
”
Williams went onto say
“We believe the police department is facilitating the injustice, bullying the protesters,” Williams replied. “And we also believe that they’re involved in this shooting. We know from blackboards and chat rooms and also videos that we have posted on our website that police that are from different counties, police from different districts have come down to entice the protesters, have come down to bully the protesters.”
And after Baldwin said these were serious allegations Williams didn’t back down saying:
“And we are standing behind it, we do not back down from these allegations,”
Williams says evidence was gathered from various message boards and that police had come to the scene from many counties to antagonise protesters. She said they have video evidence of an undercover policeman getting into an unmarked car.
Police were said to be reluctant to properly respond to the incident despite lurking nearby and took 15 minutes to come to the help of the wounded.
If this proves to be close to true we have an extremely serious problem. Obviously the matter needs full investigation.
