Everyone can remember the adults from their child hood that meant something, that influenced, supported and pushed them forward in life.

Denzel has done well for himself, he is a smart and intelligent man pushing forward film and the role of the black man in Hollywood. It seems that no matter how high he has risen, he has not forgotten his roots!

50 years ago, a young Denzel used to frequent Mount Vernon Library in New York. “Miss Connie,” remembers him fondly and he remembers her fondly. She was a librarian there.

Now she lives in Atria Senior Living in Marietta, Georgia. And even cooler, she turned 99! The family reached out to Denzel who called her on her birthday. He was also going to be in town in December so he stopped by to surprise her.
