_For Year 2017, a reader’s writing challenge is taking place here at UI._

In the comment section below this article, in 100 words or less, write a complete super-short story – beginning, middle and strong ending.

The rules are: There are no rules except that it cannot be more than 100 words in length, not including the title–but it must have a title. Period.

MONEY CAN’T BUY ME

I know Deloris.

She has taken some bold chances in life and won just about the same amount that she has lost.
She’s spent nearly the entire time she’s been alive dreaming of better days and ever so close to happiness…

as close to happiness as she is to hopelessness. Deloris has spent a lot of money trying to find herself some friends and the one thing money can’t buy.
