So basically it is saying that the people with the ability to drill are just waiting under the middle east runs out? Does that seem feasible?

Maybe Haiti is too chaotic, but you would have thought, as Oil is quite a needed commodity, that work would have been put underway by the government to tap into the gold and oil. We have technology now to go carefully and although environmental problems are definitely going to be an issue the oil will be dug from somewhere if not from Haiti!

So, why is Haiti not taking the opportunity to make itself rich, and if not why are there no private companies taking advantage of the poor structure to swoop in (like they have in many African countries) and essentially operate with impunity. I must say I am glad this is not widespread yet, hopefully it will not be!

Maybe plans are underway but these things just take time. Maybe there are political or technical issues I don’t understand.

Personally, I need to look a lot more into this…. But something is messed up here.
