I’m torn on Barack Obama. Yes, he was the first black face to hold the office of President. Yes that will inspire a lot of black kids around the world. However, when we get down to the core, did the first black POTUS help us in anyway at all. Yes, he is the POTUS of “everybody”. But I remember him writing a lot of laws for the LGBT community. Things that make you go hmmmm.
Has President Obama been silent on black issues? Do you feel he could have done more for us as a collective? Could he have addressed police brutality and police murders more? I guess the more important question is why didn’t he. What is the legacy President Obama is leaving with you?
