Zimbabwe is Nationalizing Their Diamond Mines

How is the richest country in the nation (rich with natural resources), the poorest country in the nation? I have often wondered this but I know the answer. Just to name a few, in Africa you can find diamonds, gold, iron, copper, cobalt, silver, petroleum, cocoa beans and tropical fruit. Other countries have been siphoning resources from Africa for centuries and President Mugabe knows this, which is why he’s taking action to restore his state.

President Mugabe said, “We have not received much (money) from the diamond industry at all.” Which of course seems far-fetched but unfortunately is true. There is no way that anyone would come to the United States make money off of our resources and not pay a pretty penny for it. But it’s been happening in Africa since the being of time.

Zimbabwe will be monopolizing diamond mining in their state. I really think this should have happened a long time ago. Africa is plentiful with resources. A country that is so rich in resources should produce more millionaires instead they are making other countries wealthy. Kudos to President Mugabe!

We’ll see how long that lasts once DeBeers uses their political influence. Will it really help the average Zimbabwean or just Mugabe?I hope we don’t see more blood diamonds because of this.
