Judge Walker was sworn in recently at Brooklyn town hall. She is a muslim and in accordance with her faith that means she can be sworn in using her holy book. In a country supposedly based on religious freedoms this seems totally reasonable.
However the video posted on facebook originally here (http://on.fb.me/1NSSgKa) seemed to attract a horde of nasty comments. People literally lost it!
Firstly, here is the video:
And some of the hateful comments:
“This country is going to hell in a hand basket and it’s going fast!”
“Ridiculous.”
“This is not right boo to her and the broom she flew in on”
“What a disgrace. Our country was founded on the holy bible no matter your religion.”
“It’s just the beginning next it my be in your city or town. So just keep your eyesopen and report it if it happens.”
“Why? Is that what we do now? The Quran? Really cool? A document written by a madman? Is that where we are at?”
“There trying to sneak these muslim in quietly but there are people keeping a watchful eye out on you.”
“If any go before this judge would you be judged on Shariah law?”
This ignorance just makes my eyes roll but luckily of the 2.5k comments so far there are many who are seemingly sensible and in supprort of Judge Walker and her religious freedom.
Lets judge her on her character not her holy book.
What do you think?
