WOW: Eritrean-American Woman Becomes 1st Deaf And Blind Graduate of Harvard Law School

Being a black woman makes life hard enough in the USA but Haben Girma has extra challengers. She is blind and deaf BUT she has climbed above all of that and become the first deaf and blind graduate of Harvard Law School and she is simply awesome on every damn level!

She was born in Oakland, CA to an Ethiopian father and a mother who fled Eritrea in 1983 during the independence war.

In 2015, she was named a White House Champion of Change and was also appointed to the national board of trustees for the Helen Keller Services for the Blind.
