Ray, that was a hell of a movie and proved Jamie Foxx on so many levels. You’d think after bringing one icon to life he would be done with that but it seems that after many unsuccessful attempts by other people Foxx has prevailed in securing the green light to bring Marvin Gaye’s life story to the screen in a TV series.
After a three year process “Let’s Get It On” Marvin Gaye’s life story will be brought to television by Foxx.
Foxx and Suzanne de Passe and Madison Jones of de Passe Jones Entertainment will produce.
The family are notoriously protective of Gaye’s image but in this case they approved with his son Gaye III saying
“We’ve been involved in a number of attempts to get this done, and now we’ve been able to marshal all the forces,” de Passe said. “And Jamie’s come on board as a partner, so we’re excited to get going.”
“This project will be a powerful and definitive telling of Marvin Gaye’s life story,”
It’s not clear if Jaime is actually taking on the role of Gaye at this time but I for one really hope that he does.
