As the Cleveland Cavaliers fly to New York this week some of it’s players will be staying in style at the hotel owned by the President-Elect.

However, some players, including LeBron James have refused the offer.

The arrangement to stay at Trump SoHo was arranged pre-election for their game against the Knicks this week.

Although Trump does not hold equity in the property he is paid as the brand is licensed from him.

It was said that actually maybe around half the team have opted not to stay at the Trump Branded property

Cavaliers General Manager David Griffin told the AP that the team has made plans for a “group that wants to be elsewhere to be together elsewhere,”

This news followed the news that three other NBA teams, the Milwaukee Bucks, Memphis Grizzlies and Dallas Mavericks, announced they would no longer stay at Trump branded hotels.

James made no secret of his endorsement for Hilary, he had previously wrote:

“If basketball has taught me anything, it’s that no one achieves greatness alone. And it takes everyone working together to create real change,”
