THIS WILL BLOW YOU AWAY: In 1971 Angela Davis Was Asked If Violence Was Needed For A Revolution

In 1970 the FBI literally hunted down Angela Davis, a Black Panther party leader, a strong black feminist philosopher. She was a threat to the stability of the white male elite and she was imprisoned for a crime she did not commit.

She was released in 1972 but not after the government had pretty much done everything to make an example of her.

In 1971 a reporter spoke to her from prison, her amazing and thoughtful interview stands strong and relevant all these years later.

When asked if violence was necessary for revolution her answer was mind-blowing.

Paraphrasing, she said that “peaceful protest” is an oxymoron. These acts of protest are a matter of physic, violence breeds violence so these things are going to happen.
