There’s a lot of negativity going on in wake of the impact of Hurricane Harvey on the Houston, TX community so let’s share some good news. I ran across a CNN report that spotlighted two brave gentlemen from Texas City that came down to assist law enforcement with helping victims of the tropical storm. CNN reporter Ed Lavandera caught up with two men getting readying their personal boat to voyage a flooded overpass.
When Lavandera asks what they’re trying to do, the black man (currently unnamed) simply says “Go try to save some lives.” This gesture is powerful, as it shows the simple basis of human compassion. They’re going into the midst of the trouble in the city to assist others. According to the man, they have received calls of rescue from 8 people and are expecting more.
Family, if anyone can figure out his name and information we’d love to blast him out and promote what he’s doing even more. Maybe we can put some money in his pocket for him and his partner’s selfless deed.
Nevertheless, remember that we’re have to look out for each other and protect the communities that we live in.
The power is in our hands!
