If Helen of Troy can launch a thousand ships, Carlos Miller and Chris Bentley of Palm Beach County, Florida can uplift the self-esteem of the homeless people by providing them a clean facility where they can bathe and maintain good hygiene.

The duo calls this not-for-profit project “Live Fresh Palm Beach County”.

It has started on the 31st of March 2016 through the grants given by Impact for Palm Beaches and Quantum Foundation which amounts of US$107,500 in total.

This funding has allowed the two men to renovate a trailer into a 29.5-foot shower and personal care space for the homeless folks of Palm Beach County. The mobile amenity has enough room for six bathrooms, which are complete with walls and doors to allow the individuals to wash up in privacy.

According to Miller, it is heartbreaking for him to see the less fortunate unable to go to public establishments, for fear of being turned away because of how they look or smell like.

Meanwhile, in one of his interviews, Bentley has mentioned that their aim is to bring back the self-respect and dignity that these people may have lost due to living on the streets by offering a facility where they can tidy themselves up.

The Live Fresh Palm Beach County trailer roams around the Palm Beach zone three times a week. They give the homeless shower and personal hygiene package, as well as health checkups once every month, with the help of Genesis Community Health Center.

Live Fresh Palm Beach County has had 250 participants to date, and their new goal is to reach other areas of the region soon.
