Congressman Robert Pittenger was interviewed on BBC NEWSNIGHT and explained that the protests in Charlotte are a result of Blacks jealousy of whites due to whites being more successful. He went on to explain that the creation of a “welfare state” is the cause of the “disenfranchisement” and “enslavement” of Blacks. He’s wrong about us being jealous of them but he’s spot on when it comes to his explanation of the creation of welfare state as well as the disenfranchisement and enslavement of Black folk today.

Strange fruit are no longer hanging in trees, they’re all over the ground now. Did someone turn back the clock? No. We’ve never been “post-racism” as many have tried to assert. Our nation was just carefully packaged. And as in the days of Moses, the growing numbers of the oppressed coupled with our influence has caused that package to become undone, revealing the true nature of this nation. In the book of exodus, when the oppressed’s numbers increased and they became more influential the decree went out to kill the males. Nothing’s changed.

Sooner or later Pharoah will be forced to let the people go. I see evidence of the beginning of that letting-go. It used to be that every time a senseless killing occurred it was quickly justified but now I see more and more of those same folk finding it harder to justify these killings. Black Pastors are waking up as well. One such Pastor from Charlotte, Pastor Mayfield (I believe that was his name) on CNN called for Blacks to only support Black businesses and to Exodus from both church and consumerism. He says it’s the only solution to our oppression. I absolutely agree.
