Let’s just be honest and straight forward about the situation, racism and white superiority got Donald Trump elected. I like to think that they are not the same (racism and white superiority). Me feeling like I’m better than you doesn’t necessarily mean I hate you and your existence. It simply means I’m a very insecure person that gets self-validation from looking down on others (superiority). And we all know what racism is, which is why I believe a combination of the two is the reason we’ll be calling Trump our president soon.
This combination of racism and white superiority may be coming back to bite poor and low income white Americans in the butt. Poor and low income white Americans realized Trump was white, they forgot he was rich. And wealthy elitist in America don’t necessary sympathize or empathize with low income Americans. Trump will be addressing healthcare during his presidency and eliminating Medicaid is something he is strongly considering.
Residents in Clay County, Kentucky may be experiencing voter’s remorse since about 85 percent of Clay County resident voted for Trump over Clinton. About 60 percent of them receive health benefits through Medicaid. Which in recent years has helped insure a large number of Clay County residents. This may leave a lot of low income white Americans, not just Clay County residents, that voted for Trump without insurance.
