Rapper and actor Clifford Harris, better known as Tip or T.I. has made good on his promise to match $35,000 to top 5 finalists of the Tidal x Money Talk’s Education Fundraising Challenge.

Participants were to create a fundraiser for an education initiative, and the top 5 charities that raised the most funds would have it matched by T.I.

The initiatives that received matched donations were:

Fate Loves the Fearless: “Funds raised by this fundraiser will support Detroit youth — through the renovation of a brand new FATE 2.0 facility and the continued build-out of our expanded education enrichment and mentorship program.” [Raised $8,175]

Shaw Inspires “Teen-Preneurs”: “Principally located in Baltimore Md, Shaw Inspires services are used in and outside of the United States. Teen-Preneur is a premier mentoring program for youth ages 11-25 to provide them with mentoring support that helps them create a vision for their futures and use education as their pathway to their dreams expanding their gifts, talents, and abilities.” [Raised $7,225]

The MusicianShip’s 2016 Summer Camp: “The MusicianShip is a nonprofit that changes lives with music – by providing music lessons, opportunities and experiences. This summer, we will have our 7th annual camp where we teach kids how to play instruments, how to navigate the music business industry, and culminate with a recital!” [Raised $7,170]

Generation – You Employed: “This year, in the US, we hope to expand into several new cities including Chicago, LA, and NYC — but we need your help to do it! Like elsewhere around the world, these cities are home to young people looking for the opportunity to learn new skills, work hard, and change their lives for the better.” [Raised $5,663]

Educate ME College Tour: “Educate ME Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization determined to increase and enhance the spectrum of education on various levels. The Foundation focuses on three pillars (1) High School, (2) Collegiate, (3) Professional. Under each of these pillars, we create and maintain initiatives and programs to carry out each pillar’s goals. One of the initiatives included in our Collegiate Pillar is the Annual Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) College Tour.” [Raised $4,147]

Congratulations to the top 5, and shout out to Tip for giving back to the community!
