“It just isn’t fair how girls get treated differently than guys when it comes to sex. A guy can sleep with every girl in the school and get called a player. A girl can sleep with only a few boys and get called a “hoe”. That’s why girls should keep their sexual lives private. There’s too many attention seeking females around nowadays. Nobody, minus your family, should know what you do behind closed doors. Sometimes, you can’t even tell your family. That’s how private people should be.”

Earlier last week on Facebook I stumbled upon a video from WorldStarHipHop that was rather interesting and warranted some deep thought on my part. While that rarely happens with videos that I see shared from the infamous website, this particular video was different. In it, a woman by the name of Tina got put on blast by rapper 2Chainz. This incident just so happened to go down backstage at one of his many concerts.

Following the story detailed in the video, Tina met a member of 2Chainz’s entourage on Instagram named Cap 1 and was invited to come backstage. However, when she made it backstage, Cap 1 denies ever wanting to see her. 2Chainz then proceeds to clown her, repeatedly asking “Is this yo thot”?

Although this whole entire situation seems absurd, it truly did warrant deeper thought. After taking a look at the video four times (twice for comedic pleasure), I was conflicted over who was in the wrong. 2Chainz is a thirty-six year old man after all! Personally I felt how he was acting towards the girl was immature for a man of his stature. He’s a world renowned hip hop artist with several smash hits and a gold album to his name. Shouldn’t he hold himself to a higher standard?

However, can the blame fully be put on 2Chainz? Didn’t the woman know what she was in for? I mean she was backstage at a 2Chainz concert after all! She didn’t even react or get offended when she was repeatedly disrespected and called a thot. 2Chainz even informed her that she was in “blog territory” and she proceeded to give out her Instagram name.

Now, after ridicule on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, she’s filing a civil lawsuit against 2Chainz and Cap 1. But lawsuit or not, both 2Chainz and Tina broke some laws. I’ve been quoting laws from one of my favorite pieces of literature by Robert Greene called The 48 Laws of Power. So allow me to explain what I mean when I say that they broke some laws. Take notes!

Law five of The 48 Laws of Power says: “Reputation is the cornerstone of power. Through reputation alone you can intimidate and win; once it slips, however, you are vulnerable, and will be attacked on all sides. Make your reputation unassailable. Always be alert to potential attacks and thwart them before they happen. Meanwhile, learn to destroy your enemies by opening holes in their own reputations. Then stand aside and let public opinion hang them.”

They say that what’s posted on the internet can’t be erased and lasts forever. Proper social media etiquette is a concept that many of us, young and old, can’t grasp. Now, Tina has to deal with the turmoil of being the butt of a cruel joke or, even worse, the topic of a popular hashtag. That’s something she will never be able to erase.

Tina is the one being left with the worst of this situation but, like I said, 2Chainz broke a rather important law as well. Law fifteen says: “All great leaders since Moses have known that a feared enemy must be crushed completely. (Sometimes they have learned this the hard way.) If one ember is left alight, no matter how dimly it smolders, a fire will eventually break out. More is lost through stopping halfway than through total annihilation: The enemy will recover, and will seek revenge. Crush him, not only in body but in spirit.”

Yeah, 2Chainz and his crew severely humiliated Tina. But they didn’t humiliate her into silence. Now, she’s coming back at him with a lawsuit. She’s taken to Twitter to spread the word about her ordeal, even attempting to garner the attention of popular syndicated hip-hop morning show The Breakfast Club.

Young women reading this, don’t fall victim to the attention grabbing formula that’s plagued the profile walls of social media websites for the past couple of years. If you really want to attract a man of means, take law eight into consideration:

“When you force the other person to act, you are the one in control. It is always better to make your opponent come to you, abandoning his own plans in the process. Lure him with fabulous gains-then attack. You hold the cards.”

Young women, make a brother with money want you! Bring more to the table than your looks, body and sexual abilities. If not, you’ll be the “thot” constantly being disrespected day in and day out. Aim for more out of yourself!
