The Game Donates $1,000,000 to Flint, Michigan [ALL OF HIS TOUR MONEY]

We all know The Game for his rapping, but his recent donations to the poor victims of the water crisis in Flint, Michigan show that he has a heart as well. The Game has donated half a million dollars in bottled water, which is being matched by the bottling company Avita, making other celebrities’ efforts look “cute, but not nearly enough.”

But it’s not just his donations that are catching the eye of the public. The Game’s comments on social media are making the rounds in the news, saying things like “Stop using others tragedies for your own celebrity gain… You’re not fooling ANYONE!” In a time when African American issues are being treated as a way for people to claim they have a heart, a time when celebs and rappers aren’t giving away nearly as much as they should, The Game is taking a bold step forward by saying that pledging to help is not enough. Through his Instagram, he explains which donation websites will provide the most aid to the victims, and alternative ways we can help those in need.

In the end, that’s the most important part of the Game’s message – inspiring others. Even he knows his million dollars “won’t be enough being that it will only provide 9-10 bottles per person a day just to barely get to the next day… The population is a bit over 100,000 so what we’re donating is all good but it won’t last forever & will be consumed in just weeks.” But his message has spread, causing other African American rappers and actors to also donate what amounts to millions of bottles to help out those in Flint. If there’s going to be competition between rappers, this is the kind of competition we want.

Ultimately, it’s all about coming together to help contribute to a cause. As The Game puts it, “It’s about not one person trying to make a difference but everyone pulling their resources together and doing what’s best for the community of Flint.”
