Its not everyday that you hear the news of one of the best rappers in the game receiving his college diploma. Maybe we are entering a new age of rappers. When gangsta rap started, the more bullets you shot and the more jail time you receive, the better “rapper” you were. This bs image has lead some of our youth to think being uneducated is cool. I’m glad to say that some rappers are trying to change this.

J.Cole graduated from St. John’s University in 2007, but never picked up his diploma. He was okay with knowing he graduated. But I’m glad that he filmed himself getting his diploma, but this can possibly inspire our youth to want to get their college degree as well. Imagine a world where rappers inspired young black men to become educated. Cheers to J.Cole.
