Right now there is an “ongoing active shooter operation” at the Radisson Blu Hotel in the Mali capital, Bamako. The U.S. Embassy has asked it’s citizens to shelter in place. Is this a terror attack unfolding?

Mali’s North is still insecure since the military coup in 2012, despite French military intervention in the beginning of 2013.
Masked gunmen killed 5 people in a restaurant that was popular with foreigners back in March.
