Can you imagine, you are a teen artist and a painting of yours ends up in the Met! It must be a dream come true for 18-year-old Cliffannie Forrester, from Brooklyn.
So, Cliffannie went to Uganda a few years back and was recently looking through photos. Her teacher at the High School of Art and Design suggested she paint it one of the photos from the trip.
Half way through the teacher suggested she enter P.S. Art, which is a competition that exhibits work from students across the New York school district at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
So she did, and guess what, she was picked! In fact her piece “Uganda” was selected as a winner and it gave her a prize of a one-thousand-dollar scholarship!
She took to Twitter to share the news saying,
@civilwarcliff
WHO JUST COMPLETED THEIR LIFE GOAL AT AGE 18? ME. AS OF 6/14/16 MY PIECE IS IN THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART.
9:40 PM – 14 Jun 2016
It went viral!
After a hell of a lot of good vibes and lot’s of people telling her she was inspirational she tweeted again,
