When it rains, it pours. No one knows that better than media personality Steve Harvey. Soon after receiving backlash from his fans and foes for having a meeting with president Trump before he was sworn in, Steve has had to cancel his widely popular Hoodie Awards.

The award show has been running for the last sixteen years. The awards were started to boost Harvey’s “guy-next-door” image according to a source who spoke to the dailymail.uk. This was after his first radio show failed due to “Harvey’s cold nature towards fans.” While it’s not entirely clear, the dailymil.uk reported that Harvey cancelled the awards show after he parted ways with his former manager, Rushion McDonald. Mr. McDonald owns the rights and concepts of the show.

Harvey has had his fair share of ups and downs, with his debacle during the Miss Universe pageant and his recent meeting with Trump he is starting to lose support from fans. He recently caught a break winning a lawsuit to stop the release of footage that allegedly shows Harvey telling racially insensitive jokes. The comments were edited out before the show was aired. It is alleged that he is told the audience to “go assault old white women” and “spit on white people.”

With all that behind him, he is working on a new project called Sand & Soul Festival, which will debut in October in Nassau, Bahamas at Atlantis Paradise Resort.

In the wake of all the controversy Harvey is taking a long vacation on a private tropical island with his family.
