SMH: Debate Was Next To Ferguson And Police Reform Wasn’t Even Discussed!

by | Oct 10, 2016 | News, Politics News | 0 comments

In 2014, unarmed black teen Michael Brown was shot in Ferguson, Missouri. Protests and movements have come from this, calls for police reforms and a need for serious inner look at this country’s police force.

This IS an important issue for the next president and one that cannot be ignored.

Last night Hilary And Donald went head-to-head in a debate. That 2nd debate happened just 15 miles from Ferguson. This was a chance for either candidate to commit, to talk about the change we need, to address police violence.

But NOPE, not a word! Instead we hear Trump arrogantly asking what black people can lose by voting for him! Trump also called for law and order and respect of the police.

Hilary, well she mentioned “working against discrimination against African-American children in schools and in the criminal justice system.” when she was a lawyer but that was as close as it got!

All around, a shameful omission and in my eyes a huge failure, are these clowns fit to rule a country? A country that is facing a huge racist crisis, many of that issue laying on an institution that’s supposed to protect every citizen!

As St Louis mayor candidate Antonio French said on Twitter.

@AntonioFrench
I’m disappointed that the candidates weren’t asked about policing and #BlackLivesMatter. Very important to our country and our city. #debate

Absolutely disgusting!
