According to social justice activist Bryan Stevenson, slavery in the USA did not end in 1865. It just evolved, disguising itself as the current prison system. His legal organization aims to set the ground for the representation of the poor and the minority groups.

Stevenson intends to use “From Enslavement to Mass Incarceration” his museum in Montgomery, to create a link between the end of the civil war and the present mass incarceration in the nation.

The Social Justice Activist implies that segregation, racial terrorism, and slavery are vices that are still conspicuously evident in the United States.’ criminal justice system.

In his analysis of the situation in which the black people were during the civil war and the circumstance they find themselves in presently, Stevenson says that the United States have the highest rate of incarceration globally. His in-depth analysis also reveals that one out of three black baby boys born in the United States is expected to go to prison or jail at one time or another.

From Bryan Stevenson’s excellent analysis, the USA government, in its need for cheap labor, fully supports slavery. The only difference between the civil war period and the present is that the Justice Department of the day has replaced the past merchants of slavery.
