Serena Williams Gives Back To The Compton Neigborhood Where She Went To School

When she isn’t talking to young fans mid-match or building schools in Jamaica it seems all round awesome and inspirational Serena Williams is giving back to the community she grew up in.

On March 10th, Serena Williams joined over 50 other celebrities, including athletes, artists, entrepreneurs and philanthropists in a flash funding classroom project to fund communities across the USA. They collectiveley gave over million.

Serena donated to the #BestSchoolDay by pledging to support classroom projects in Compton, CA. where she attended school. In the video below she talks about the project and her best school days.

The campaign helps support the crowdfunding nonprofit DonorsChoose.

org where people can donate directly to classrooms needing cash for various projects. An amazing initiative.


Serena really is doing more and more amazing things! We love this lady.
