8 years on and many are still in shock at seeing a black family in the white house, and a young family at that too! At just 55 Barack is still charming in every way (although the job seemed to grey his hair) and the family have always looked elegant and upstanding.

For me, they are most most wholesome and American looking family I have seen in the hite House during my life time.

We’ve all seen the kids grow up and despite your political stance it’s hard not to accept the groundbreaking barriers this family coming to the White House achieved.

The family just sent out their last White House Christmas card last week. Signed by the whole family and the two dogs it features a stunning image of the family in their last year.
