The charaisma of Julian Bond cannot be understated. A man of action, a man of strong will in the face of adversity.

He will be missed but he will REST IN POWER! Let’s not forget this man.

On April 17th, 1960, Bond and his co-founders organised the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee (SNCC). He served from January 1961 to September 1966 and traveled the South around Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, and Arkansas.

He left Moehouse College (returning many years later) in 1961 to work on Southern civil rights, including leading protests against public facility segregation and Georgia’s Jim Crow laws.

He was also a chairman of the N.A.A.C.P. and had a long career in politics.
