We CANNOT have political representatives in this country attending rallies affiliated with hate groups but sadly it seems more and more evidence is rising to link politicians and officials (yes, mainly republicans) with far right, racist, Neo-Nazi groups.
The wave of fear over Syrian immigrants is bringing a lot of the racists out of the wood work for uniformed protest and general hate speech. These so-called protests and rallies basically seem to be binding together people using fear, hate and false statistics. It’s utterly unacceptable that ANY official is attending these rallies in a supportive capacity but U.S. Uncut has brought together an amount of evidence linking at least two Republican officials in Pennsylvania with Neo Nazi rallies and affiliation with their groups.
Republican county chair Mary Ann Benitez and committee member John Rentschler are not only said to be attending rallies but also organizing anti-immigrant rallies alongside groups who are said to be skinheads, affiliated with the Neo-Nazi movement.
The group is Keystone United who until 2009 held the name Keystone State Skinheads (KSS) and the SPLC has this to say about them
“While its members attempt to project a mediagenic image of being part of a new breed of more sophisticated and less spasmodically violent skins, the truth is that the group’s members have been convicted of a string of remarkably violent attacks dating back to at least 1998, ranging from bar brawls to murder.”
These Pennsylvania rallies have risen in response to Governor Tom Wolf supporting the refugees and also Senator Bob Casey also spoke publicly urging acceptance of Syrian refugees in the state.
