I’ll be honest, the fact that Patti made a commercial factory pie and blew up the internet lining the pockets of greedy corp Walmart isn’t actually great news for the black community! It’s great news for Patti and great news for Walmart!

We are not saying anything bad about Ms LaBelle but I think she could have made a point here and raised the game for black business.

Still, the pies are supposed to be pretty good and the Washington Post think they have found the recipe for the pie so you don’t have to go nuts trying to get them.

So the Post did some googling, cross referencing and taste testing.

They found some old Patti recipe book recipe that seems to hit the mark and the taste.

So how does this help black business? Why not go to your local store, buy the ingredients from them. These homemade pies take more time and may even cost a little more but the homemade taste and the likelihood of better ingredients mean that it’s better for everyone, maybe 🙂
