Richard Sherman, Seattle Seahawk’s corner back, ran into the kicker, Dan Carpenter, of the Buffalo Bills, Monday night which drew an offsides penalty and some questioned if the hit warranted an unnecessary roughness call. Sherman explain he was just playing to whistle and was not trying to rough up the kicker.
Of course fans didn’t like the play but Carpenter’s biggest fan, his wife, took her frustrations to twitter.
Kaela Carpenter’s Tweet:
“I know what we do on the farm when a male can’t control his own rage. #LuckyImNotThere #Sherman #ActLikeAnAnimalGetTreatedLike1,” she tweeted.
Despite how absolutely racist her tweet sounds, she recanted her statement and of course said it came out all wrong, there was no racist rhetoric behind the tweet, she’s a farm girl and that’s how they talk on the farm.
Sherman did not accept her, sorry I ain’t sorry, apology and brushed it off as sheer ignorance. He said he was disappointed but not surprised by her response and this is why:
“Ignorance has always been in the world. The core of this country has been built off slavery and people owning people. Anytime you understand that’s the core principles of the way a nation was built, you’ve got to have some kind of, I guess, sympathy for it.”
No sympathy, no excuses, just ignorance.
