Plan to “Check The Police” By Black Lives Matter Activists

The recent events surrounding the release of the Laquan McDonald murder video and accusations of police cover up, aswell as seemingly countless other episodes of law enforcement not being made accountable has led to a necessity for a way to keep the police in check according to many activits.

So, a group of Black Lives Matter activists are embarking on a project to do just that. The project isn’t that glamourous, named the Police Union Contract Project it aimes to get into the records and contracts surrounding police and the difficulty in holding them accountable.

This, they say, is much in part to the contracts they hold with their unions. Things that are hard to explain, hard to get a hold of and hard to properly decode.

See the graphic below to see some of the ways this project is aiming to combat the lack of accountability and keep a check on our law enforcement.

I personally fully support this campaign, the police need to operate within a legal framework where accountability is paramount.
