The Original ‘Coming to America’ Writers Have Been Hired To Pen Sequel, Will Murphy Return?

Finally some solid movement on a Coming to America sequel!

Paramount studio have hired Barry Blaustein and David Sheffield, the original writers of the  1988 original, to write the sequel according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It’s early days so it doesn’t mean for sure it’ll go into production but already producer Kevin Misher is attached.

But the real question is, will Eddie Murphy reprise his role as Prince Akeen? Also, remember the legend James Earl Jones, Arseno Hall and John Amos was there and they could potentially come back on board!

Sadly no one is confirmed and there is no word from Murphy yet!

Also we have to remember that an American guy was playing an African, in a comedic way, and that could be frowned upon so is it the right time to bring that back on board? Is it disrespectful in today’s world?

What do you think?
