Obama Administration Earmarks $12 Million for Holocaust Survivors & $0 Dollars for African Americans

Tragic as it was, the Holocaust didn’t occur in this country. It was a foreign atrocity. Still, Holocaust survivors receive more financial redress than the ancestors of African-American slaves. The Obama administration has awarded $12 million for assistance to Holocaust survivors. The allocation from the Department of Health and Human Services to the Jewish Federations of North America, to be disbursed over five years, is part of an initiative launched in late 2013 by Vice President Joe Biden to address the needs of survivors in the United States, a quarter of whom live below the poverty line.

Combined with matching private funds, the approximately $2.5 million per year over the five years “will support $4.1 million in programming annually for organizations that help Holocaust survivors,” the JFNA said. According to JFNA, the funds will be used to advance “innovations in person-centered, trauma-informed supportive services for Holocaust survivors.”

Now that Obama is getting a lot of praise from white America, maybe he has forgotten that the melanin in his skin comes from black people. Maybe he forgot the people who got him in office looks just like him. Maybe he has forgotten that according to the State of Working America, African Americans had the highest poverty rate, 27.4 percent, followed by Hispanics at 26.6 percent and whites at 9.9 percent. 45.8 percent of young black children (under age 6) live in poverty, compared to 14.5 percent of white children.”

When faced with record high unemployment in the black community in 2012, Obama didn’t allot targeted funds to African-Americans, as he’s doing for Holocaust survivors. He merely pointed out that he’s “not the president of black America.” Thanks President Obama for not recognizing 400+  years of slavery, Jim Crow, and the bombing of Black Wall Street as if the sh#t never happened.
