Oh boy, this story is awesome. I am standing in respect to 77-year-old Hurl Taylor of Ellenwood, Georgia.
He is prominent defense attorney and 20-year army veteran and a pure inspiration! He just received his 8th degree, a Master of Religion in Public Life degree from Emory’s Candler School of Theology. In 1987 he received a law degree from the same school.
Talking to WSB-TV he said:
“I’m really excited because I think sometimes, senior citizens kind of pine away. They don’t do a lot. Going back to school, for me, keeps the old mind very active and I like academics,”
Talking more he went onto say:
“I seriously started thinking that I wanted to get a bit more religious education, and I wanted to use it more or less to teach and work with youth in prison,”
Now he plans to work with his church’s prison ministy and plans regularly visits the DeKalb Regional Youth Detention Center.
He also wants to head to Germany for three weeks to “examine contemporary German religion in the context of the upcoming 500th anniversary of the Reformation.” according to NewsOne!
Woahhhh!
