Nastase Is Banned From Wimbledon Over Racist Serena Williams Comments

Wimbledon organizers announced that Ilie Nastase will not be invited to the Royal Box at the Tennis event after his Serena Williams remarks, deemed racist by most (apart from Nastase himself).

All England Club chairman Philip Brook told the BBC:

“His actions were not very good and we condemn them. In terms of an invitation to the Royal Box, he is not going to receive an invitation this year,”

Nastase’s comments came after Williams announced her pregnancy and Nastase asked, “Let’s see what color it has… Chocolate with milk?” referring to her mixed-race relationship.

Williams reacted in style on Instagram writing:

“It disappoints me to know we live in a society where people like Ilie Nastase can make such racist comments towards myself and my unborn child,” Williams wrote. “I humbly thank the ITF for any consideration given to all the facts in this case.”

Nastase dug his hole deeper when he said “If I Said She Would Have An Ugly, Black Baby” to try and draw a parallel between his original comment and one he considers racist!
