Michelle Obama Reveals Why She Won’t Ever Run For Office (Hint: It’s For The Kids!)

Pressure has been growing on Michelle Obama to run for office since long before her history making husband ever left office but again and again she has shot down the idea.

And now, she has done it again and given a very valid reason.

At an Orlando Q&A session at the American Institute of Architects’ annual conference she said:

“It’s all well and good until you start running, and then the knives come out,”

“Politics is tough, and it’s hard on a family. … I wouldn’t ask my children to do this again because, when you run for higher office, it’s not just you, it’s your whole family.”

First Lady Michelle Obama thanks U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) employees for their service and dedication at the Jefferson Auditorium, USDA on Friday, May 3, 2013. The First Lady reminded federal workers of the importance of the work they do to support American farmers and ranchers, protecting the environment, lifting up rural communities, and keeping food safe, and working to end hunger. I can absolutely understand her position. Love them or hate them, the family went through it for 8 years and it will affect them until the end of their days.

However, note, that Michelle specifically said “higher office”, does that mean she isn’t ruling out running for other political positions?

Would she have a good place in local politics?
