In 2017 Colin Kaepernick seems to be ramping up his fight against social injustice, just days after he gave away his entire sneaker collection to poor kids, he has donated a huge amount to the Standing Rock health clinic!

Amongst other donations he gave in December, he revealed on Friday that he gave $50,000 to the free Mni Wiconi Health Clinic Partnership which is set up at the Standing Rock protest camp. The camp is still there protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline which although has been stopped by the Obama admin may be restarted when Trump comes to power.

Kaepernick’s website says that 50 percent of the funds will pay the salaries of the doctors and nurses, and the rest is split between building materials for the camp’s mobile medical clinic, medical supplies and liability insurance.

Kaepernick also donated to the organizations Appetite for Change in Minneapolis, Southsiders Organized for Unity and Liberation of Chicago.

These donations are part of his million dollar pledge which will run through to July 2017.
