A racist music industry, illiteracy meaning he couldn’t register his songs and years of poverty has meant that 95-year-old Magin Diaz has never been able to make it big from the iconic music he has composed.

Many of his songs have been recorded by famous artists, artists who became musical ambassadours fro the Latin american world, his songs are iconic throughout Colombia and further afield.

Yet at 95 he is only just recording his first album. He just wants a nice farm, hell, even a donkey! But his music gave him only emotional support.

However, maybe, maybe his time has come and his solo album can give him some comfortable last years.
