Love Through Hate: Hater App Valentine’s Day Advertisement is Stirring the Pot

Outside of the Apple store in New York’s Chelsea neighborhood patrons received an unusual surprise on Valentine’s Day. If you walked down 15th Street and Ninth Avenue on Tuesday night you got a glimpse of a giant projection of Russian President Vladimir Putin caressing a very pregnant Donald Trump.

Where do people come up with this stuff?

Is this pertinent news, absolutely not. It’s just a little entertainment for those who missed it. Although the Republicans will deny it, Trump has to be the most disliked President in U.S. history.

The Valentine’s Day stunt was coordinated by the app Hater which is a Tinder-style dating app that matches couples based on things they both hate. The illustration of Trump and Putin appeared next to Hater’s upside-down-heart logo and a hashtag with the company’s tagline, “Love Through Hate.” Surprisingly, on their app about 80% of the users hate Trump.

In this diverse melting pot we live in, with an abundance of different races, ethnicities, and religions (things that usually divide us) our strong dislike for the President seems to be a uniting force.
