Tension between police officers and citizens of black and minority communities around the country are running high. People are upset over the blantant police brutality in their neighborhoods and lack of judicial follow through by the legislative branch of Government.
Through this frustration and bitterness, a confidential police informant informed the NYPD of Latin Kings gang members allegedly planning to assault officers.
The source said these attacks are suppose to happen at the W. Warms Road and E. Tremont Avenue intersection in the borough’s Castle Hill neighborhood. The attacks are suppose to be scheduled fo rthe week of January 19th, according to the department’s Intelligence Bureau.
Since the killings of Eric Gardner and Michael Brown and the non-indictments of the officers involved in these cases, the city of New York has been under nonstop protest, activism and demonstrations. People are tired of feeling threatened by the police in their community and are speaking out about it.

The tension between citizens and police have not died down with the killing of two police officers a few weeks back and officers turning their backs on NY Mayor Bill de Blasio, who has a black wife and children. Reportedly, officers took offense to de Blasio telling his black son to be careful around the police, which seems like wise parenting to most in our communities.
The report of the threat on NYPD officers by the Latin Kings just throws a bit more fuel on the fire and has people worried.
However, many wonder what do officers and politicians think people are going to do?
Do they really expect the people to continue to lie down and accept whatever forms of punishment they decide to dish out?
