The Garner family may finally be vindicated!

“The DOJ just reached out to me and said they want to meet to give me an update,” Erica Garner shared on Twitter.

“Word of mouth is that they are going to have a meeting. I don’t know when or where or what it’s about,” Garner’s mother, Gwen Carr, said in a recent interview with the New York Daily News.

Garner’s family is still seeking justice for Eric Garner’s death. His killer is free despite the fact that his death was ruled a homicide.

His killer, officer David Pataleo, was not convicted after putting Garner in an illegal chokehold, hearing Garner say “I can’t breathe” and refuse to release Garner from the chokehold despite him being handcuffed all because he Garner was suspected of selling loose squares.

Garner’s family may have an opportunity to take their case to civil court to seek some justice.

Had it not been for this rogue cop, they would still have their husband, their father, their son! This family deserves justice, his life was senselessly taken by a man who wanted to flex his muscles. Let’s hope they do have a civil case and the Garner family is finally vindicated.
