Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape Of You’ has an eerie familiarity, it’s not just something about the music but the lyrics too and even if he didn’t mean to it’s clear the cheeky red headed Brit has had some strong influences.

Just listen to it and try and name the songs it reminds you off. It screams late 90s to me and once you give No Scrubs a full listen the ties seem to be strengthen. Social media noticed this too and thanks to an ongoing campaign Sheeran has graciously decided to put Xscape writers Kandi Burruss,Tameka “Tiny” Cottle and also writer Kevin “She’kspere” Briggs on the credit sheet.

Sheeran’s says ”Boy, let’s not talk too much/ Grab on my waist and put that body on me” and No Scrubs, ”No, I don’t want no scrubs/ A scrub is a guy that can’t get no love from me”…. And that’s just the lyrics.
