Ja’Mal Green is an activist from Chicago that has been working hard toward creating a better Chicago.
Just like any city there are good and bad areas, Green’s focus is the bad areas. Creating opportunity, safety, stability, and hope in areas that most have given up on.
Violence in Chicago has been a hot topic for the last few years. On MSNBC’s Town Hall in Chicago, host Chris Hayes, invited Superintendent Eddie Johnson to talk about ways law enforcement would help lower crime in Chicago. Green gave a powerful statement addressing the real issues that are plaguing the city of Chicago and called Chicago’s Mayor Rahm Emanuel out on his lack of effort to do the right thing.
“When you can invest $100 million into the DePaul basketball arena when they can they can practice at the United Center for free. And 16.4 million to uptown to build upscale apartments, when you build these new bus stops we got downtown, but walk in our neighborhoods and not a million is coming.
”
