Just when you would have thought there could be no more insult to injury…. Food & Water Watch group, a nonprofit advocacy group, has revealed that their findings show that the residents of Flint, Michigan paid the highest water & sewerage rates in the country in 2015! In fact, they paid nearly three times the average.

How screwed up is that!

Flint residents had to pay $864.32 per year for water contaminated with poisonous lead! So bad that in many cases it was unsafe even to bathe in, let alone to consume

Now, consider the national average is around $316.20 and it starts to make your head spin!

Residents of Flint have long known they were paying too much for their water and this led to a state judge ordering the city to roll back its water and sewer rates by 35% in August 2015. However nothing was done, despite it being known, about the toxic levels of lead.

Now thousands of babies may be facing brain damage and many people have been left with no clean water.

Despicable, especially as the government is considering a $2 billion rise in aid per year to Israel but doesn’t seem to have the funds to fix the pipes for it’s own people!

This story leaves me shaking my head.

Flint officials have so far declined to comment on the findings. We are anxiously waiting….
