Have you heard of Ernestine Shepherd? She just turned 80 and is officially the world’s oldest female bodybuilder according to the Guinness Book Of Records. She is also known as the world’s fittest grandma.
She look absolutely amazing and is nothing short of truly inspiring. You’ll be feeling lazy as hell when you read what she does every day!
Her motto “age is nothing but a number” has been proven!
Born on June 16th 1936, she was never into physical fitness growing up, she says she was too prissy for that.
She didn’t start working out until mid 50s because her sister Mildred decided they should both get into shape so they started weight lifting together.
However her sister sadly passed away from a brain aneurysm and Ernestine fell into a deep depression.
But one day Mildred came to her in a dream and said “Get up and do what I asked you to do”
She made up her mind that she would fulfil her sister’s dream and went onto win 2 bodybuilding titles and is known as the world’s oldest female bodybuilder.
So how does she do it?
Every morning she is up at 2:30am, she says her prayers, eats a high protein breakfast. She hits the pavement for a 10mile run! YES, That is 10 miles!
She also teaches a class at her gym and helps other seniors realise that “age is nothing but a number”.
