There’s a great opportunity for talented and hard-working kids who want to learn how to code.

For that reason Ne-Yo has invested $2.3 Million in a coding school by the name of Holberton School.

Giving equal opportunities to everyone, providing equipment, access to platforms, knowledge and motivation is the mission of this project. True vision is enabling everyone to become a professional and find a job. Only after finding a job students will start paying back the scholarship. Diversity, gender equality and better future for both individuals and the society are what Ne-Yo is led by.

Ne-Yo’s investment in Holberton free coding school is actually an investment into the future of a prosperous and diverse society, both in terms of technology and equal rights for the smart and the talented, regardless of any kind of social status. The singer is aware that coding schools are usually very expensive and that only certain kids can afford it.

Making the program completely free of charge (until finding a job) is a breakthrough that will surely bring us some extraordinary talents in this field.

The critics have praised this concept, stating it truly removes all of the barriers students are used to when choosing their school. Furthermore, bringing people from different backgrounds into the program is expected to produce new, unseen solutions for diverse tech problems.

Keep up to date with everything going on in the Urban Intellectuals Universe.
